Guess who thinks she’s all that and a bag of cheesy Doritos? You already know. This weekend was the best ever, thanks to two fantastic events – the Taking Care of Me Spa Party and the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers National Conference.
Sofn’free, our primary sponsor, and L.A.C.E. Enterprises, The After Affects, Desirable Essence, and Chrystal’s Urban Crochet provided gifts and goodies fit for our diva queens! A special guest, Carla of Cookie’s n’ Cream added the SPICE to our event with tidbits on how to keep it hot (and you know, some like it HOT). Priscilla Deason represented for Darrell Roach Designs, selling handmade, metalworked jewelry. Jaime of Intuitive Touch gave what was supposed to be five minute massages but that lasted long enough for everyone to feel refreshed and relaxed. Candice Victoria, mobile manicurist at Mani Pedi to Go, specializing in manicures using only natural ingredients and rarely ever using polish, gave our hands a the attention they deserved. Stylists Natasha and Freda of Naklectic Salon in LA, where the event was held, were on hand to provide styling services. All was made better with wine, a playlist of sultry R&B hits, and guest engaging in great conversations about business, partnerships, shopping, beauty, love, and taking care of self.
Everybody had a great time and left feeling good and with info from the stylists and Sofn’free non-expert, (lol, I don’t know nothing) me.
I skipped the whole part about how I’d gone to lunch with my friend Aminah Hanan of Blogging While Brown, who was in town for the Latina Lifestyle Bloggers conference and the valet lost my car and THEN how later the GPS had me lost by the Hollywood sign (I was scared because they recently found a man’s head in a bag there!). Needless to say, by the time Aminah and I made it to the spa party, we were in need of all sorts of relaxing massages and manicures and calm conversations!
Immediately after the party, we headed to Koreatown to get luxury pedicures in those giant spa chairs at O Nails at the Wilshire Vermont Station. By the time we were done there, we thought we were good and beautified up. Not so!
Ana Lydia Monaco, the founder of Latina Lifestyle Bloggers, is a genius when it comes to experiences. At the kick off dinner at Los Angeles Brewing Company in Downtown LA’s Broadway district, who knew that we’d eat, drink and….get makeovers from Milani Cosmetics! After mingling with other guests who were in town for the #LLBlog National Conference, we got glamified by the amazing Jason Sanchez of Geisha Studio. Using the entirely new collection of great products (ever more enhanced by beauty expert and @bebeautifulla Shawanna Davis), Jason turned all the gorgeous guests into supermodels. That included me!
The night ended with us turning in early so that we could get ready for the actual conference, held Friday and Saturday, April 27 -28, 2012 where I was a panelist speaking about marketing your products online (hint, hint, doesn’t that sound like the workshop I’m doing at Love & Beauty Unconference???)
Take a look at all our photos from the events and my viva glam poses (lol at that one Daily caught when I was WERKin’)!
